Hakoshima spring and Azuma Fish Farm
Guests occasionally ask us about visiting Hakoshima Spring.
Hakoshima Spring is located in Higashiagatsuma Town, Agatsuma District, and is recognized as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Waters.
The water rises from the roots of a cedar beside Hakoshima Fudoson, in Hakoshima, Higashiagatsuma Town. It is called Fudō no reisui — Fudō’s sacred water.
After emerging from the ground, the water flows into a waterfall. Downstream, the Narusawa River is well known as a habitat for fireflies.
Nearby, Azuma Fish Farm offers a fishing pond and raises local fish in the clear waters of Fudō no reisui. The farm also supplies Ryokan Omori with Ginko and Silk Salmon.
Hakoshima Spring is about 40 minutes from Ikaho Onsen by car. The opening of the Joshin Expressway West Bypass in March has also made access via Shibukawa-nishi IC and Okazaki IC more convenient.
It makes a pleasant stop on the way to or from Ikaho Onsen.
