Ayu season at Ochiai Yana
Ayu (sweetfish) season has arrived again. Ochiai Yana, in Yasaki, Kitatachibana-machi, Shibukawa, is a seasonal riverside spot where you can enjoy freshly prepared ayu.
This summer, it is open from Thursday, June 18 through Sunday, September 27, 2026. Guests can enjoy fresh ayu while listening to the flow of the Tone River.
All seating is open-air, making the cool river breeze and surrounding scenery part of the experience. Families, groups, and larger gatherings can also be accommodated.
Details are on the Ochiai Yana site. It makes a pleasant stop on the way to or from Ikaho Onsen.
Sunday 27 September is also the Tachibana Furusato Festival in Kitatachibana.
