Yaezakura still blooming in Shibukawa
April is nearly over, and the long holiday is here, but yaezakura (double-flowered cherry) can still be seen at Ikaho Green Ranch and at Shirai-juku.

The pink, large-petaled yaezakura “Kanzan” colors the grounds like a pink carpet when the petals drift down. It should last into early May.

The trees reached full bloom from mid-April, and many visitors enjoyed the large pink and white flowers. Leaves have since begun to open, and the contrast with the petals is very fine. The Shirai-juku Yaezakura Festival was held on 19 April, but the yaezakura can still be seen.
In Shibukawa, yaezakura remain out even over the long holiday at the end of April. Earlier Somei-yoshino spots are in the cherry-blossom notes.
