Open-air bathing in the rain

Rooftop open-air bath in the rain at Ryokan Omori
  • Steam rising from the rooftop open-air bath in the rain

In Ikaho Onsen, sudden rain is common at this time of year. Some guests tell us they skipped the open-air bath because of the rain. Others say rain in the open-air bath is rather nice.

That is true. Standing in the rain, in the bath, is not something you can easily do at home. At Omori’s rooftop baths — Roman and Honoka — you can.

Please stay inside if there is thunder.

This season is a good chance to try it. If you prefer to stay under a roof, see Rakurakuyu.
