Spring Rose Garden Fair at Nakanojo Gardens
Nakanojo Gardens will hold a Spring Rose Garden Fair and Bulgaria Friendship Fair from Saturday 23 May through Sunday 21 June.
Spring roses open then — one of the gardens’ most colorful seasons. From Saturday 23 May, see about 400 varieties and 1,000 roses, and other flowers.
A Bulgaria Friendship Fair runs at the same time. During the period there is a display of Bulgarian costume and goods for sale. On Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June only, there will also be folk dance and folk-instrument music. Japan has a long traditional friendship with the Republic of Bulgaria. It is a good chance to learn more.
This year again, a morning special opening of the rose garden is held on six days only: 30 May, 31 May, 6 June, 7 June, 13 June, and 14 June.
The rose season is expected to be crowded, so this is a chance to enjoy a quiet morning.
Admission is the regular fee plus ¥500. There is a capacity, so a reservation is required. (If there is space, same-day reception is also available.)
Applications are accepted from 9:00 on 13 May through the event reservation form on the homepage. Details are on the Nakanojo Gardens site.
Another rose note nearby is the Spring Rose Garden Festival at Shikishima Park.
