Nagoshi no Oharae on Tuesday 30 June
Shibukawa Hachimangu — guardian shrine of the center of Japan — holds Nagoshi no Oharae on Tuesday 30 June. The rite is also held that afternoon at Ikaho Shrine.
Nagoshi no Oharae is the mid-year shrine rite on 30 June. It purifies sins and impurities that have gathered over the first half of the year, and it is held in the wish that people may live through the hot summer brightly and in good spirits.
