Ikaho Festival, 18–20 September
The Ikaho Festival returns this year. It brings together the Roka Festival on 18 September, which honors Tokutomi Roka (author of Hototogisu, who died on 18 September 1927), and the annual festival of Ikaho Shrine (Ueno-no-kuni Sannomiya) on 19 and 20 September.
The festival has been held since before the Meiji era. It is a traditional event, and it is also known as a vigorous one. Mikoshi and floats pass along the Stone Steps.
