14th Haruna Lake Marathon on 27 September
On Sunday 27 September 2026, the 14th Haruna Lake Marathon will be held on the roads around Haruna Lake. The course is a Japan Association of Athletics Federations certified full marathon at Japan’s highest elevation for such a course.

Traffic controls will be in place around Haruna Lake on the day. If you are traveling from Ikaho Onsen toward Haruna Lake, some stretches will be closed for part of the day. Please allow extra time. The 34th Tachibana Furusato Festival and lake fireworks are also on Sunday 27 September.
