Ikaho Tenugui Art Exhibition 2026
Students in the Practical Seminar (painting and design) of the Department of Aesthetics and Art History at Gunma Prefectural Women’s University have designed original tenugui (cotton hand towels) with Ikaho Onsen as the setting.
This time, 50 students from the 2025 academic year created the designs. (The photos were taken previously.)
The designs will be shown as nobori flags on the Stone Steps of Ikaho Onsen from Friday 17 July through Sunday 27 September 2026.
A web vote will choose the top three works. Those three will be produced and sold as Ikaho Onsen souvenirs from December 2026.
Thirty people, drawn by lottery from those who vote, will each receive one of the finished tenugui (the design cannot be chosen).
