Soap bubbles on the Stone Steps at 17:00
Every day at 17:00, the nursery song “Shabon-dama” (Soap Bubbles) plays through the onsen town. To that melody, soap bubbles are sent up the Stone Steps — the Okami’s Dream-Colored Rainbow Soap-Bubble Project. It is running again this year.
The women’s association of inn okami, Okōjokai, began it so that guests might enjoy the Stone Steps a little more in the evening. This is its 16th year.
For a brief time in the evening, the bubbles make a dreamlike space.
