The flower of Shibukawa City is the hydrangea (ajisai). Peak viewing differs by place, but you can enjoy it from about early June through early July.

1. Shibukawa Skyland Park

The Western hydrangea Annabelle, popularly called the “white noble lady.” About 5,000 Annabelle plants are set in the park, blooming like a white carpet. The park is also on the Sightseeing page.

  • A separate admission fee is required.

2. Shinkō-ji

Many hydrangeas are planted along the approach and in the precincts; the temple is also known as a hydrangea temple. Fine hydrangeas bloom on both sides of the approach.

A hydrangea walk makes a pleasant stop to or from Ikaho Onsen.
