26 June was Open-air Bath Day
Yesterday (26 June) was Open-air Bath Day.
The day was established in 1987 by the Yubara-cho Ryokan Cooperative and the Yubara Tourism Association in Yubara-cho, Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture — said to be the birthplace of open-air baths. The date comes from a Japanese wordplay on rotenburo: ro (6), ten (the decimal point), bu (2), ro (6) — 6.26.
The rainy season continues, and typhoons No. 7 and No. 8 — a double typhoon — have brought heavy-rain damage in various places. After the typhoons have passed… how about soaking in the rooftop open-air bath at 800 meters — Roman and Honoka — and easing everyday fatigue?
We look forward to welcoming you.
