What is at the 190th step of the Stone Steps?

Ippuku-kan, at the 190th step of the Ikaho Stone Steps, reopened last December.

Ippuku-kan is a rest stop with public toilets, a little way into an alley from the 190th step. It had not been used much as a rest stop. Current members and alumni of Shibukawa City’s Community-Reactivating Cooperator team teamed up to change that, and it reopened on 1 December last year.

Inside the refreshed rest stop there is plenty to look at: sightseeing pamphlets, a display of original kokeshi, and the Ikahotto MAP, drawn with care so that it is easy to read.

A good pause when you stroll the Stone Steps. Other notes on the street are Soap bubbles on the Stone Steps at 17:00 and Yosano Akiko and Ikaho Onsen.
